Bryan Lanier b.1978 is an artist and muralist from Florida based in Montreal, Quebec. Growing up in a military family, he moved city to city around the world; living in Japan, Alaska and Texas just to name a few places. Despite the consistent change in his upbringing and exposure to various cultures, his Floridian roots remained highly influential and prevalent in this new body of work with his use of vibrant color palettes, technical detail, and often tropical-themed elements. His early steps into his artistic career began in the early 90's as a street artist tagging murals wherever given the opportunity. With time and dedication these creative outlets eventually evolved into heading creative commercial projects for iconic companies such as Disney and Universal Studios. Since relocating to Canada in 2008, he's focused on cementing his artistic identity. Known for his aesthetic of clean lines, layered dimension, cartooning, and a specialty for unique typographic elements while exploring modern and urban themes. "Once upon a dream," is an exhibition specifically curated to rekindle the innocent unbridled joy and awe experienced in childhood. Composing within the iconic Mickey & Minnie Mouse silhouettes, his compositions surface these nostalgic feelings and memories while also paying homage to some of his most influential artists.
