Biography

Jason Pulgarin is a thought-provoking and socially conscious street artist that creates vivid works saturated in social and cultural themes.

Born in Wiliamsburg Brooklyn, New York his affinity for art was apparent from childhood. Through his teenage years in the city, he began pursuing street art in all of its forms with cartoons, fashion, graffiti, and street culture serving as inspiration.

Pulgarin's humility, raw talent, and drive impressed his future mentor and world-renowned artist, Tristan Eaton. Before long, Eaton offered Jason an internship at his design firm, Thunderdog Studios.

While under Eaton’s tutelage, Pulgarin learned the ins and outs of the art world - from running gallery shows to traveling overseas and working on creating major art projects and exhibitions.

Through his continued work under Eaton, and later earned himself membership of the street artist collective, Trustocorp. From there, the artists found many shared and individual successes, which took them to Los Angeles to expand their work with other galleries and collaborations with famous artists such as Shepard Fairey.

By 2012, after spending years traveling and working behind the scenes in the art world, Jason pursued an artistic identity of his own. While he still maintains a presence in Los Angeles, he’s evolved his career to be featured in domestic and international exhibitions.

His work reflects upon and bridges the societal struggles and conflicts from the early 18th Century to today. Taking inspiration from classical and baroque works from masters of centuries past, he revitalizes these themes and motifs with his own techniques and gradient compositions. This is engaging art that truly opens conversation.
