About the Artist

Junar Rodriguez is a highly-regarded, self-taught, Mexican-American multidisciplinary artist whose oeuvre reflects a unique "multi-perspective approach to the configuration of the world." Drawing upon his studies in music and architecture, his compositions are characterized by a dynamic interplay between structure and chaos, with human forms and figures appearing to exist in a state of flux, or"becoming." His work is highly evocative, occupying a space at the intersection of color fields, gestural lines, and impasto paint marks, which serve to create a swirling cosmos of visual stimuli. Through his art, Rodriguez invites viewers to engage with the depths of their own thoughts and emotions, in order to emerge with a renewed sense of inspiration. The artist currently resides and works in Chicago.
