Braden Walls, born in 1992 in the heart of Arkansas, is a dynamic artist who skillfully blends influences from the Cubist movement with modern techniques to create captivating collage-esque artworks. With a flair for experimentation and a diverse range of media, including oil, acrylic, and graphite, Walls has forged a unique artistic path that pushes the boundaries of traditional and contemporary art. He subsequently found his passion for art at Arkansas State University where he went on to receive his BFA in Studio Art in 2016. Since then, Walls' work has graced many private collections and an array of group and solo exhibitions.
Artist Statement:
In my artistic journey, I have found inspiration in the revolutionary spirit of the Cubist movement, reimagining its essence in the context of contemporary creation. Through the marriage of diverse media and the harmonious chaos of digital collage, I've crafted a style I proudly call "Neo-Synthetic Cubism."
My canvases become an arena where I explore the battle between fragmentation and cohesion, much like the complex nature of our modern existence. The three-dimensional twist I've introduced to my work allows me to deconstruct and reconstruct my subjects, breathing a newfound vitality into them.
My choice of subject matter is a deliberate nod to the iconic and the sentimental. Portraits and symbols from pop culture and nostalgia act as bridges connecting the past and present, inviting viewers to introspect on the threads that weave their own stories.
