Braden Walls, born in 1992 amidst the quiet landscapes of Arkansas, is an artist whose work hums with both the echoes of art history and the pulse of contemporary expression. Drawing deeply from the fractured forms and dynamic abstraction of the Cubist movement, Walls breathes new life into this aesthetic lineage through a modern lens, crafting layered, collage-like compositions that feel both timeless and distinctly of the moment.
His work is a meditation on form, fragmentation, and the poetic nature of perception — an exploration of how images can be deconstructed and reassembled to reveal hidden narratives and emotional undercurrents. With a fearless devotion to experimentation, Walls moves effortlessly across media, blending oil, acrylic, graphite, and mixed materials in ways that challenge conventional boundaries and invite the viewer into a world both familiar and abstract.
Walls discovered his passion for artistic creation at Arkansas State University, where his academic pursuits blossomed into a calling. Earning his BFA in Studio Art in 2016, he emerged with a sharpened vision and a restless drive to forge his own path. In the years since, his work has been featured in a range of group and solo exhibitions, resonating with collectors and curators alike. His pieces now reside in private collections, treasured for their complexity, texture, and evocative storytelling.
Each of Walls’ works invites contemplation — a visual symphony of fractured forms and layered hues, speaking to the ways we assemble meaning from fragments, memory, and instinct. His practice stands as both homage and innovation, honoring the past while boldly reaching toward the uncharted.
Artist Statement:
"As a child, I was very particular about keeping my food separated on my plate and keeping things in order; a habit that has evolved into my artistic practice. This need for organization and separation is reflected in my collage -esque work, where each element occupies its own distinct space. My indecisiveness and love for variety are manifested in my use of multiple mediums, allowing me to create pieces that are both orderly and eclectic. Each piece I create is a reflection of my current inspirations and emotions, resulting in an ever-evolving body of work that is both personal and universally resonant." -Braden Walls
